What historical event from the 1500s to 1960s should I write my paper on?

We have to write a 3 to 5 page paper in my modern western civ cl on a historical event. I want to write about something interesting. I was thinking the concentration camp Auschwitz or maybe drug usage in the 1960s. I am at a loss.
