Can someone tell me more about the universe being flat?

I was watching some talk byu a physicist and he briefly mentioned how recent calculations of some sort (I vaguely remember the number 0.3) pointed towards our universe being flat? But he only mentioned it briefly before moving on. Can someone provide me with more information about this? Also if the universe is flat, ie- has shape, does that also mean these calculations point to a finite universe? thanks
