Are you proud of being a Republican?

I have to say that I was a former republican, now a democrat. The reasons are that I think the republicans of today are pushing the country in a wrong direction, in a direction that Lincoln, Teddy R and Ronald Reagan would be ashamed of. The GOP of today continue to use negative ads and fear mongering to win their elections to coerce voters into voting for the so called 'maverick' and his running mate the self described 'pitbull with lipstick'. This election has gotten ridiculous. As much as I think Obama is inexperienced, I think this country needs a new direction and wasn't Lincoln a lawyer from Illinois as well?
